Acrobatic
Rock&Roll
Dancing
Club "Flamenco" was founded in 1985 as a part of (CCAA) Comrade
Cultural Art Association "Mitar Trifunovic Uco" (present name
"Bosna") from Tuzla in Bosnia and Herzegovina. In the beginning,
it was a little group of acrobatic rock&roll dancers that performed
some shows and conducted a dancing school. The founder of that little
section was great enthusiast Dimitria Dico Pelemis.
In 1987 he left CCAA to the other and after that danced for rock&roll
Club "Zagreb" from Croatia since 1991.
After
his leave the leadership of the section was taken by Vasic
Dragan Cigi and Trutovic Namik. They worked hard in order to successfully
establish this RNR group among other competitors in Europe and the rest
of the world.. At that time the only registered association in former
Yugoslavia was Association of Dancing Organizations of Slovenia. All
active dancing clubs form former Yugoslavia were members of that association.
So the couple Ivana Bajer and Danijel Upcev("C"category)
from "Flamenco" took the second place on Championship R&R
of Yugoslavia and the fifth place on International Competition in Zagreb
in 1990.
Since
the war started in Croatia in 1991, the rest of former Yugoslavia (Serbia
and Bosnia and Herzegovina) founded some sort of Dancing Association
that worked for a very short time. At that time Jasminka Valjevac and
Danijel Upcev won the first place and Elvira
Jasarevic and Namik Trutovic took the second place in B category
on competition in Sarajevo in 1992. Other RNR couples coming from popular
RNR clubs from Belgrade, Novi Sad and Sarajevo with long and already
established dance history were behind.
In
January 1996, for the first time after the war, one couple from BH left
for abroad to take part in international competition. Those were Selma
Nakicevic and Elvir Avdagic. They won the
first place in C category while competing in Zagreb and after that they
won many times in B category to became the first couple in Bosnia and
Herzegovina to enter the main class.
Of
course the greatest surprise and discovery was the youth couple, Neda
Sinanovic and Senad Softic, that became members of the club in 1995.
On the first championship of Bosnia they won the first place and they
repeated their success each year after that. They competed in Europe
Championships in Slovenia (1997), Check Republic (1998), Belgium (1999)
and Germany (2000). They took parts in World Cups where they also achieved
excellent results. In Slovenia in 1999 (forth place), France (11th place),
Poland in 2000 (29th place), Hungary, Slovakia...
Senad
Softic started to dance with a new partner Nina Mesanovic in 2002. They
started to compete together and in 2003 they took 8th place on World
Championship Juniors in Oberwart - Austria. After that their next competition
was in France , Nimes on 06th March in 2004 and they won World Cup.
In
1999 Aida Hrnjic and Edin Mujkic took the second place on Acrobatic
Rock&roll Cup of Croatia in B category and a short time after that
became the second couple from Bosnia and Herzegovina in the main class.
Latino-American
Dance
In
1991 dancing section was registered as independent organization with
name Flamenco. At that time Armela Jusic and Amer Mujakic Cviki tried
to organized section of Latino-American dance but couple months later,
this section ceased to exist.
Dancing
Club Flamenco continued with its activities during the war in Bosnia.
More over, at that time the club expanded and founded more dancing sections
as Latino-American and Jazz Dance in 1992.
First
teachers for Latino dance were Vesna Popov and Munever Salihovic Munja.
In 1994, Latino dance is conducted by Armela Jusic.
During
the war, in 1995, Dancing Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina started
to work again and Amela Avdic and Alan Alagic became the second ranking
couple in Bosnia and Herzegovina and left for World Championship Latin-American
Dance in Denmark. As Alan Alagic left for Germany, his place took Amer
Mujakic Cviki who competed only on one competition with Amela Avdic
in Travnik (BH). In 1997 this section stopped to exist. As Alan Alagic
came back from Germany the Latin-American section started to work again
in 1999. There are many new couples now.
Jazz
Dance
In
1992, Jazz Dance section was founded and led by Armela Jusic and Meliha
(Kadic) Jahic for a short period of time. From 1992 till 1994 this section
was led by Vesna Popov who presently owns her own club. Ever since 1994,
the choreographer and the leader of the section is Meliha (Kadic) Jahic.
This section became one of the first in Bosnia that started to compete
on show dance competitions in Bosnia and they won the first competition
in 2000 and some others after that.
Standard
Dance
In
1998 section of Standard Dance was founded by Muhamed Mesanovic Mesa
but it stopped to exist in 2000.
Break
Dance
In
2000 some boys came back from Germany. They danced Break Dance there,
so they founded section of Break Dance. On the first Championship Show
Dance of Bosnia and Herzegovina Fadil Jamakovic took the second place
and Adnan Udvincic the forth place. Together with Muhamed Setro they
are founders of this section, and they continue to teach other boys
to dance.
